Michael Daley, through the NSW Community Building Partnership Program, is investing $300,000 in local projects in our community.
This will help our local groups improve their buildings, facilities and services as well as support local jobs. This year, 26 local community groups have applied for funding.
Eastern Respite and Recreation have applied for a grant to purchase a vehicle for our group programs. This would have a substantial impact on the services that we are able to deliver to local families, allowing us to increase the community participation and engagement activities that we can offer individuals as well as supporting families to meeting their transport needs.
Community access and engagement is an important aspect of everyday live for most people. For people with an intellectual disability engagement with their community provides opportunities for them to fill valued roles, increases safety when in the community independently and creates a sense of belonging. The introduction of a new vehicle into our small fleet will ensure additional work in this area.
Funding is allocated through a community vote, so we are trying to generate as much support as possible and spread the word.
Please vote for Eastern Respite by either downloading the voting below form, completing it and returning it to Michael Daley’s office or pop into any of our centres to pick up a voting form complete it on site and leave it with a staff member.
