Eastern Respite’s services are highly dynamic, innovative and diverse. Services are delivered through the following departments:
Individual Respite
Eastern Respite’s Individual Respite department provides flexible respite packages to families/carers of people aged 0 – 65 years. Respite is provided through either a paid support worker or volunteer who works directly with the person with a disability. Respite may take place in or out of the carers/ family home and include both recreation and skill development activities.
The Individual Respite team run two parent support groups, one for aging carers and one for infants. These groups provide carers the opportunity to create support networks through regular social activities and relevant information seminars facilitated by a variety of professionals.

Out of School Care
Eastern Respite’s Out of School Care department provides after school care and holiday program activities to children and teenagers with a disability. There are currently three after school care programs for teenagers and children as well as ten holiday program groups.

Weekend Activities
Eastern Respite’s Weekend Activities department coordinates group recreational and peer support programs for children, teenagers and adults. All programs take place on Fridays or over the weekend and are either community based or run from one of Eastern Respite’s centres at Hillsdale and Rosebery.

Day Programs
Eastern Respite’s Day Programs department provides the following services to adults and school leavers; Transition to Work, Community Participation, Post School Options, Active Ageing, Life Choices and Pathways. Eastern Respite operates Day Program Centres at Hillsdale and Rosebery.

Aboriginal Playgroup
Eastern Respite’s Aboriginal Liaison Officer runs an Aboriginal Playgroup in partnership with Botany Family and Children’s Centre. The playgroup runs from La Perouse Health Centre on Wednesday mornings from 10 – 11:30am during school term.

Camps
