Eastern Respite’s has over 130 people accessing 18 group activities that take place on either a Friday, Saturday or Sunday.
Weekend groups generally run fortnightly or monthly and are supported by a mixture of paid staff and volunteers. Groups that have participants with higher support needs have higher staff ratios than groups with lower support needs.
All programs are either community based or run from one of Eastern Respite’s centres at Hillsdale or Rosebery. Programs are tailored around the interests of group members and focus on supporting people to access the community.

Eligibility
To be eligible to receive a weekend activity program, the person with a disability must meet the following criteria:
- have a physical, intellectual or sensory disability
- be aged 5 – 65 years (each group has its own age criteria as outlined above).
- live at home with their primary carer
- live in one of the 5 local government areas in Eastern Sydney – Botany, Randwick, Sydney City, Waverley, Woollahra

Cost
Weekend groups are $10 – $20 per outing depending on the group. If a person is unable to pay the set program fee, ERR will make every effort to make individual arrangements and will not refuse services because of an inability to pay.
